I also walked away with the realization that there is a big difference between those who BLOG and podcast for a living versus those who use blogging + podcasting to compliment their business growth and supplement their marketing.

Taryn. Damn. Youve set off another flood of ideas and thoughts and compiled a library of info into a tiny package.
On niche, I am working on CLEARLY defining the “what I do” At The World Internet Conference this year one key was to make your niche an Inch wide-Mile deep. This is the opposite of WalMart’s mile wide strategy. Us little guys win by being pinpoint specialists. Your hammering on specificity is appreciated.

You hit the nail on the head for two of the conferences i went to Izeafest and BlogWorld.

Some how I don’t look like my avatar I guess bc I would introduce myself and every single person said I didn’t look my avatar.

I always try to connect with people and eventually get them to email and phone so I can reach them taht way when tools like twitter is down

Love the recap! Unlike my boring little play-by-play account of IZEA you touched on a lot of thinking points. I am totally going to research the concepts you brought up here…and I agree wholeheartedly with the community aspect.

And this, lol, “Make sure you use a picture that looks like you and don’t pretend to be extroverted online if you are very introverted in person.”

…Bingo! I believe this as well and I think people who see that I’m a doofus online will recognize that I’m a doofus in real life. For that, I suppose I’m on target.
